8 No Time

Dear Betty,

It is never easy to give a "F" to a student, especially when the student has paid a high tuition fee to attend the class. Unfortunately, you lack the skills at the present time to be a successful college student.

Firstly, you need to improve your time management. You come late to class and leave early. You may have had perfectly good reasons but you are not in the room to participate in activities of the class. Furthermore, if you had handed in term project in a timely fashion, you would have the opportunity and the time to revise the paper to a passing standard.

Secondly, you cannot follow instructions both written and oral. This is obvious in regard to the essay question on each of the examinations and the term project. In the first examination, you were the only that one that managed to misinterpret the question. In the second examination, you were asked to evaluate the importance of five people to world civilization. Instead, you were able to give only two or three specific individuals. In the case of both examinations, the class received a review sheet two weeks before the examination. Time was set aside to review the essay questions.

The term project required biographies of five people. Instead of a keyboarded essay, I received one biography that appeared to be hastily written that I found in my mailbox the day that I handed in the grades.

When you improve your time management and organizational skills, you will get more out of college.
