14 No Application of Knowledge

I have students have taken English or public speaking but apparently these skills do not transfer over to other subjects where applicable. I had one student who submitted his term project three times. Each time I took two points either for spelling or capitalization errors until I lowered his term project’s grade to 60 each time.. I told him I was not his proofreader.

He complained in one e-mail: : “Why did you take 10 points for my failure to capitalize proper nouns? This is not English class.”
